ElectionZ (our appointed Returning Officers) have now finalised the postal ballot voting/internet voting results for the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust (TST) Trustee Elections, and the two Special Resolutions seeking a change to the TST Trust Deed.

Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust (the Trust) has announced a positive result for the 2015/16
financial year, with an increase in the Trust’s total net equity to $31.2m and full repayment of all
loans, ending the financial year debt free.

The Māori Education Trust 2016 Scholarship Programme is now open and offers scholarships to Māori secondary school and tertiary students who meet the respective scholarships’ criteria.

A Ngāti Tūwharetoa partnership, the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust (TST) and five other Tūwharetoa entities, have finalised the purchase of 8,500 hectares of Crown land in the central North Island. This includes around 4,000 hectares of timber plantations.

Update

As we reported at our Annual General Meeting in December of last year, one of the key tasks identified for completion by the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust was the acquisition of the Corrections land at Hautu and Rangipō. To complete this purchase, we have established a partnership of Tūwharetoa entities to raise the required funds. Also important to note is that these entities have structured an arrangement for hapū participation and long term ownership.

The Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust is calling for nominees for a trustee from the Tai Hauāuru Ward.

Nominations open on the 16th February 2015 and close at 12pm, on the 9th March 2015.

First Annual General Meeting will be held at Mokai Marae, 10am, 18th April 2015.

TST is co-locating with Tūwharetoa Maori Trust Board and Ngati Tūwharetoa Fisheries Charitable Trust. Today, Friday 12 December we begin to shift our office across to 81 Horomatangi Street, Taupo. From Monday, 15 December we'll be operating from the our new office space.
